News from our arhive: Xzibit Busted For Marijuana Possession In Guam |
As fans of Pimp My Ride know, Xzibit is an entertaining guy. The rapper’s laidback, anything-goes demeanor makes him the perfect host for MTV’s California auto-upgrade series — and, apparently, it also helps charm the customs officials of Guam.
X made a stop there on the weekend, while busy touring his latest LP, Weapons Of Mass Destruction, and was met at the airport by a K-9 drug-sniffing dog. When the pooch was drawn to Xzibit’s luggage it led to a search by the airport’s security, who turned up about two grams of pot. Since he was carrying under one ounce of marijuana, X was only issued a $100 fine and a notice of citation to appear in court — the small charge means no jail time, and he was allowed to perform that night at the University Of Guam.
What impressed the border peeps was Xzibit’s willingness to co-operate. According to AllHipHop.com, one customs officer told a local television channel that the performer fessed up to possession immediately. "He was very good-natured that morning, even declaring that he had it and was smoking [the marijuana]," said the official. "Very seldom do we find people being caught [and they confess]… the very first thing is deny, deny, deny. He was very relaxed about it."
Yeah, we hear weed can do that to a person. X might have to appear in a Guam courtroom later in the month, or a judge may let him simply pay the fine. |
